The race
What is the Course des Lutins?
A playful, timed Christmas obstacle race in the heart of Sierre. Dressed up as elves, the participants – mostly children, but adults too – take on a course full of obstacles, in a festive atmosphere with families, friends and local businesses.
When and where does the race take place?
The 7th edition takes place on Saturday 19 December 2026 on the Place de l’Hôtel de Ville in Sierre. Starts are scheduled between 10am and 3pm.
How does the race work?
The obstacle course is about 1 kilometre long and runs through the town centre. Each participant can run it up to three times: only the best time counts.
From what age can you take part?
From 3 years old, with no upper age limit: adults can of course run on their own, without a child, in the Lutins category.
What are the categories?
There are four categories, each for girls and boys (women and men for adults). They are assigned automatically according to age when you register:

Do I have to dress up?
No, fancy dress is optional… but it’s so much more fun! Every participant receives a personalised race headband.
Registration
How do I register?
Only online, on the MSO platform, from 1 October 2026 at 12 noon to 16 December 2026 at 12 noon. It is not possible to register on the day.
How much does it cost?
CHF 20.– per person. For every registration, CHF 2.– is donated to a charity.
My child wants to run with me: do I need to register too?
Yes. A parent running with their child must also register (CHF 20.–): this is essential to be covered by the insurance. In return, they also receive a bib, the bag of presents and the medal.
Can I register a group (class, club, company)?
Yes, groups are very welcome! However, each participant needs their own account on MSO.
Are places limited?
Yes, the race is limited to 1,200 participants. Registration closes as soon as this number is reached: don’t wait too long!
Can I change or transfer my registration?
Yes, directly on MSO, using the “Modify my registration” and “Transfer my bib” options in your account.
What if the weather is bad or I can’t make it?
When registering on MSO, you can take out cancellation insurance to cover you if you can’t attend.
On race day
What time do I start?
Whenever you like! Start times are free between 10am and 3pm. Allow about 30 minutes for the first lap, then 20 minutes for each extra lap (optional).
Are spectators welcome?
Of course! Admission is free to come and cheer on the elves, and pushchairs are welcome.
Where and when do I collect my bib?
On Friday 18 December 2026 from 3pm to 8pm at the Manora Restaurant (Manor shopping centre, Sierre), or on Saturday 19 December from 10am on the Place de l’Hôtel de Ville.
What do participants receive?
Every participant receives a bib and a personalised race headband, and goes home with a bag full of presents and a souvenir medal. The top three in each category also receive a prize, sent to their home after the event.
Can I eat and drink on site?
Yes: a drinks stand awaits you at the finish, and there are plenty of food stalls at the Sierre Christmas village on the same square. The Manora Restaurant is exceptionally open from 8am to 9pm on 18 and 19 December.
How do I get there?
The easiest way is by train: Sierre SBB station is a few minutes’ walk away. By car, the Gare, Europe and Forum car parks are very close. See access and map.
